Job Description
Join Optum as a Patient Services Representative Associate and make a positive impact in healthcare by providing compassionate support to patients. You'll be the first point of contact, helping individuals navigate their care and access essential health services in a diverse and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Greets and welcomes patients in person
Collects and verifies demographic, insurance, and benefits information
Checks in and interviews patients to complete required paperwork
Obtains and explains cost information to patients
Addresses and resolves claim issues or registration errors
Provides customer service for inbound and outbound calls
Assists in scheduling add-on appointments
May mentor other staff and gather medical record information
Supports dynamic needs of the healthcare environment
Required Qualifications
6+ months of customer service experience
Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Ability to work standard daytime hours, Monday-Friday for the first 3 weeks after hire
Ability to work an average of 32 hours per week in 8-hour shifts
Ability to work every other weekend
Must be 18 years of age or older
