The Physiatrist is a licensed, credentialed health care professional who functions as the Service Chief for the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&RS) Service at the Marion VA Health Care System which includes the Evansville Health Care Center. Areas of responsibility include Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Chiropractor Services, Audiology, Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, Brace and Amputee, Wheelchair and Mobility, Electromyography/Nerve Conduction, and General Physiatry. The Physiatrist works independently with administrative guidance from the Chief of Staff. Clinical performance is reviewed through peer review, ongoing professional practice evaluation (OPPE), and service-level quality programs.
