Job Summary – RN LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) – Day/Night Rotating
Shift: 12-Hour Day/Night Rotating
Schedule: Includes weekends/holidays as needed; self-scheduling; float-first policy
Contract Length: 13 weeks (91 days)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hrs/week
Charting System: Meditech
Facility Type: Critical Access Hospital (CAH)
Unit: LDRP / Level I Nursery and OB – Will float to MedSurg, Peds, and occasionally ER
Unit Details
- L&D Beds: 4
- Triage Beds: 1
- C-sections: Performed in OR with RN support throughout surgery and newborn stabilization
- Postpartum Beds: Shared with L&D (4 total)
- Birth Volume: ~250/year
- Patient Diagnoses: Preeclampsia, cholestasis, repeat C-sections, neonatal stabilization
Required Skills & Experience
- Must Have: Labor & Delivery, Nursery, and Newborn Stabilization experience
- Float Requirements: To MedSurg, Peds, and occasionally ER (if RN is comfortable)
- Drip Titration: Yes – Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, amp/gent for newborns
- Certifications Required:
- BLS
- NRP (mandatory)
- Preferred: ACLS, STABLE, TNCC
