Job Description
Join Cargill as a Plant Electrician in Schuyler, NE, and play a crucial role in maintaining electrical systems in a dynamic environment. You'll be part of a dedicated team ensuring the smooth operation of equipment while contributing to a sustainable future.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in design of electrical projects and install electrical equipment
Coordinate efforts with other workers involved in installing and maintaining equipment
Consult with operators, supervisors, and engineers to plan equipment layout and resolve issues
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks
Inspect industrial equipment for assembly and defects
Advise management on equipment operation hazards
Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems and repairs
Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions
Work extended shifts and be flexible with schedule
Required Qualifications
Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
At least 18 years old
Ability to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
Ability to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold
Ability to work in elevated areas
Must be able to operate machinery
Must be able to read/write English
High School diploma or Equivalent
Basic computer skills including being able to enter and retrieve data
Ability to work overtime
Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts
Must be able to perform electrical maintenance trade
Experience working with blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications
Must have a high degree of mechanical aptitude
Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical functions
Must be willing and able to work in inclement conditions and extreme temperatures
Must be able to work in an outdoor, and indoor plant environment
Must have very good time management skills
Install conduit and pull wire
Have a strong commitment to safety
Must have adequate transportation
Use multiple tools such as multi-meter, voltmeter, and safety equipment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with wiring and programming Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers
Experience using electrical test equipment for analysis and troubleshooting
Knowledge of the National Electric Code
Mechanical aptitude to work from all types of blueprints, maintenance manuals, and drawings
Apprentice, Journeyman or above license with the state of Nebraska or equivalent
A 2-year degree in electromechanical, electrical system, or equivalent
