Key Responsibilities
Explore and develop new technologies for power systems and subsystems
Develop state-of-the-art breadboards and advanced prototypes
Perform requirements trade-off studies and validate feasibility
Analyze and review power system designs and concepts
Evolve power systems modeling and simulation tools
Provide power system expertise during system integration and testing
Required Qualifications
MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent with 3+ years experience (or a Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years)
Experience in analog and digital control theory and stability analysis
Experience using Typhoon, Speedgoat, or other hardware digital control implementations for real-time digital control prototyping
Experience in power conversion design and testing of AC/DC and DC/DC converters
Proficient in Matlab/Simulink/Simscape for analyzing and simulating power systems
Experience in SABER or SPICE or other circuit analysis tools
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings or tests
Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems or control theory
Experience in thermal design and analysis
Experience with generator and motor dynamic modeling
Experience in magnetic design
Understanding of Naval power generation and distribution
Experience with EMI/EMC testing and design mitigation techniques
Ability to guide and mentor early career engineers
