Unit Description: The Emergency Department (ED) is a 70-bed unit that provides critical care for both adult and pediatric patients. Nurses in this unit must be proficient in using critical care equipment, including ventilators and BiPAP machines. The position offers auto offers with less than 2 weeks of Request Time Off (RTO).

• Charting System: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Navy

Education & Experience:

• Minimum of three (3) years of recent Emergency Department experience required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
• Travel experience is required (must have completed at least one contract assignment).
• High volume/fast-paced experience is preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

• Valid NJ License or Compact License.
• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support).
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale).
• Note: Pending certifications or certifications that expire within 30 days of submission are NOT accepted.

Scheduling Requirements:

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
• Holiday Requirement: 1 holiday per contract as needed.
• Request Time Off (RTO): No more than 3 days accepted.
• Note: No block scheduling or special requests will be accommodated.

First Day Instructions? /Orientation:

Failure to complete the full orientation will result in immediate termination- once scheduled, candidate does not have the option of rescheduling any classes.

Candidate will receive an email directly from Inspira the Friday before the Monday start. The email will contain the following information;

1. They will receive instructions for signing on to the Virtual Welcome meeting and online HealthStream Module from Human Resources sometime prior to 8:30 on Monday. Monday GEO will be Virtual from their own computer. The modules assigned must be completed by Monday or they will be removed from the orientation list.
2. In person class schedule list - Typically Tues-Thurs- these classes are held in multiple locations. The location may not be listed in the original email, candidate is required to use Health Stream to determine class location day of. Please Note *The POCT class will required to attend and is not during orientation week.
3. Unit based orientation schedule from manager.
4. Badge ID Link - instructions on how to make an appointment t o receive their ID badge in person. Photo submissions are not permitted. Must be complete during orientation. The Badge is required for clock ins.
