Join Verizon as an Outside Plant Technician and ensure our outside plant facilities operate at maximum efficiency. You'll work on essential tasks like placing and maintaining cables and hardware, all while being part of a dynamic team that values innovation and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Placing, rearranging and removing outside plant, including aerial, underground, submarine, buried, block and house cables, poles, and associated hardware/fixtures
Connecting wires and cables to terminals and attaching/detaching various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings or poles
Reading and interpreting engineering work orders
Performing construction work using designated equipment
Operating Company motor vehicles to transport equipment
Climbing ladders and poles, working aloft, and moving/lifting items generally not exceeding 100 lbs
Working evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as needed
Required Qualifications
Valid state driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
CDL or the ability to obtain a CDL
Preferred Qualifications
A related Associate Degree or 2 or more years of relevant work experience
Completed Verizon Technician Program or similar programs covering electrical or lineman training
