Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you'll lead a dedicated team to provide vital veterinary care in underserved communities. You'll ensure high-quality patient care while fostering a positive work environment and supporting the professional growth of fellow veterinarians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the veterinary clinics
  • Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques and other medical protocols
  • Ensure a positive work culture of respect, belonging, and teamwork
  • Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-quality spay/neuter procedures
  • Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care
  • Schedule staff veterinarians for optimal coverage
  • Participate in monthly veterinary medicine rounds

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
  • Possess ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
  • Fear FreeĀ® Shelter certification within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience
