Overview
Reporting to the Director of Special Programs, the Program Manager will lead AOX’s partnership with customers in commercial ventures, the U.S. Government, and U.S. defense prime and second-tier contractors. Our ideal candidate will possess exceptional technical expertise and collaborative people skills with the proven ability to work within a technically dynamic, high-growth, fast-paced, and strategically important business unit for NG Space Systems.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion
- Responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs
- Coordinates the preparation of proposals, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract
- Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance
- Establishes design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration, and test
- Establishes milestones, identifies program problems, and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules
- Works with other PMs to coordinate staffing across programs based on program priorities set by the Director of Special Programs
- Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing, and administrative areas
- Controls expenditures within the limitation of project budget
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and five years related experience
- 3+ years of Program or Project Management experience or similar (e.g. Lead IPT (Integrated Product Team), or Lead NPT (New Product Team)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues and predict potential programmatic and technical risks
- Impeccable ethics in business conduct; ability to lead by example and foster ethical behavior at all times
- Ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers in the business area
- Able to assimilate information from multiple sources, create coherent plans, and then execute those plans
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
- Experience with Defense/Government contracts
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- US Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree and/or PhD in a STEM discipline
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physics with a concentration in Optics
- Five years’ experience in program or project/task management
- Experience in optical systems integration
- PMP certification
- Active Top Secret security clearance
Working Environment & Physical Demands:
- Some domestic travel may be required up to 10%
Salary Range: $129,900 - $194,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
