Job Description

Join RWJBarnabas Health as a Workplace Accommodations Specialist, where you'll support HR partners in managing accommodation requests, ensuring compliance with disability laws, and enhancing employee relations. This role is crucial for fostering an inclusive work environment while promoting the health and well-being of all staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interact daily with HR Business Partners on new and established accommodations
  • Review documentation including job descriptions and recommended accommodations
  • Monitor the implementation and efficacy of approved accommodations
  • Escalate denials and complex accommodation issues for guidance
  • Coach HR Business Partners and Leaders on applicable laws
  • Partner with ER Data Analyst to prepare reports and analyze trends
  • Deliver presentations and conduct workshops
  • Maintain confidentiality throughout the process
  • Participate on designated System committee/work groups
  • Remain current with applicable laws and regulations

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in a related field
  • Three or more years experience in accommodations, disability/workers Compensation Management, Employee Relations and/or FLA/FMLA/LOA administration
  • Knowledge of Federal and State disability-related laws (e.g. PWFA, ADA/ADAAA, FMLA, NJESL, NJFLA, NJFLI, NJLAD)
  • Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA and related privacy laws and regulations
  • Proven proficiency in Employee Relations/Human Resources software (e.g. HR Acuity, PeopleSoft)
  • Proven proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience in preparing educational materials and delivering presentations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
