Property Accountant
Park Ridge, NJ |?Hybrid (Mon–Wed in office, Thurs–Fri WFH) | $85,000 + Up to $5,000 Performance Bonus
A well-established and growing commercial real estate investment firm is seeking a Property Accountant to join its accounting team. This is a great opportunity for someone with 3–4 years of property accounting experience, particularly in commercial real estate, who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities:
Perform monthly bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
Prepare journal entries and assist with monthly close and quarterly GL audits
Support the preparation of monthly financial reports, annual budgets, and business plans
Review and process tenant billing per lease agreements
Assist in completing CAM, tax, and insurance reconciliations
Track and ensure timely payment of taxes, licensing, and business fees
Utilize MRI and Excel for account inquiries, reporting, and reconciliations
Support internal and external audits and ad-hoc projects as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
3–4 years of property accounting experience; commercial real estate preferred
Experience using MRI property accounting software
Strong understanding of GL, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Detail-oriented with strong communication and analytical skills
