Transervice Named Top Cold Storage Provider Award by Food Logistics Transervice offers FREE Family Health benefits JOB SUMMARY This is a dynamic and rewarding supervisory position in a fast-paced, 24/7/365 operation responsible for overseeing the maintenance of a large fleet of over-the-road tractors and trailers at the Kroger Distribution Center in Louisville, KY. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, management and direction of maintenance technicians, compliance with safety regulations, and ensuring efficient maintenance operations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary. Supervise and Direct Staff : Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned technicians, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals. Effective Communication : Communicates effectively with technicians and leadership to ensure clear understanding of tasks, goals, and expectations. Work Coordination : Coordinates, assigns, and reviews work; establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed. Safety Enforcement : Enforces safety procedures to ensure safe operation of equipment and employee safety. Inventory Management : Monitors inventory levels and orders parts, supplies, equipment, and materials. Operational Planning : Plans, schedules, directs, and supervises the personnel and activities of the fleet maintenance operations. Record Keeping : Maintains records and files of vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance work. Data Analysis and Reporting : Collects statistical data, prepares reports, assists in budget preparation, and completes special projects. Process Improvement : Evaluates and recommends improvements in department procedures and operations. Related Work : Performs related work as assigned. A two-year college degree in a related field (e.g., automotive technology, business management) is preferred. Experience : One to three years of direct supervisory experience in a diesel maintenance shop environment. Diesel technician background is preferred. OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Computer Skills : Strong skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word. Fleet Software : Familiarity with fleet-related software. Certifications : None required, but certifications in diesel mechanics or fleet management are beneficial. Substance Testing : Must submit to and pass pre-employment and random alcohol and drug tests. On-Call Requirement : Must be on a rotating 24-hour call schedule. Driver's License : Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement. Performs work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 50 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
