Job Description

Join Rush University Medical Center as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Hematology/Oncology, where you'll provide vital pharmacy services to cancer patients, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and play a key role in medication management and patient education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services to hematology, oncology, and SCT patients
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team rounds and develop patient education materials
  • Review and monitor drug therapy for safety and effectiveness
  • Provide patient and family counseling on medication regimens
  • Act as pharmacy liaison to the Cancer Center and participate in quality improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
  • Illinois Pharmacist License (or eligibility to be licensed in Illinois)
  • Post Graduate ASHP Year Two Pharmacy Residency in Hematology/Oncology
  • Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Board Certification Board of Oncology Pharmacy Specialty Certification (BCOP) prior to or within 18 months of hire
  • BLS Certification
  • Knowledge in intravenous admixture services, intravenous drug therapy and chemotherapy and cellular therapies
  • Excellent problem solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACLS Certification (or shall be obtained upon hire)
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree and residency certificate
  • Experience and strong knowledge base in chemotherapy
