Join Rush University Medical Center as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Hematology/Oncology, where you'll provide vital pharmacy services to cancer patients, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and play a key role in medication management and patient education.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical pharmacy services to hematology, oncology, and SCT patients
Participate in multidisciplinary team rounds and develop patient education materials
Review and monitor drug therapy for safety and effectiveness
Provide patient and family counseling on medication regimens
Act as pharmacy liaison to the Cancer Center and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
Illinois Pharmacist License (or eligibility to be licensed in Illinois)
Post Graduate ASHP Year Two Pharmacy Residency in Hematology/Oncology
Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Board Certification Board of Oncology Pharmacy Specialty Certification (BCOP) prior to or within 18 months of hire
BLS Certification
Knowledge in intravenous admixture services, intravenous drug therapy and chemotherapy and cellular therapies
Excellent problem solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
ACLS Certification (or shall be obtained upon hire)
Doctor of Pharmacy degree and residency certificate
Experience and strong knowledge base in chemotherapy
