Cummins Aerospace is looking for a skilled CAD Drafter to join our Engineering Department and play a critical role in manufacturing aircraft landing gear. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic company that values growth and offers career advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively in both team and independent settings
- Maintain strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ensure accuracy with close attention to detail and self-review of work
- Develop and maintain 3D models using SolidWorks, adhering to planning requirements and design updates for aerospace components and assemblies
- Generate and manage 2D technical drawings based on 3D models using SolidWorks
- Track project time using the MRP system
- Submit sketches for approval and redlines to the Director of Engineering
- Work closely with Manufacturing and Quality teams to refine and approve sketches
- Annotate customer drawings using Discus software
- Manage sketch annotations within SolidWorks
- Upload and maintain sketches within the MRP system
- Accurately document project updates and approvals using the MRP system
- Proactively meet deadlines and go the extra mile when needed
- Ensure personal and workplace safety at all times
- Adhere to all company policies and guidelines
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma required; some college or technical training preferred
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in CAD drafting and design within the aerospace industry
- Skill Set: Proficiency in ERP Systems, MasterCAM, SolidWorks, Discus, and other relevant design software
