Job Description

Join Optum as a Senior Patient Care Coordinator and enhance health outcomes by providing essential support to patients and healthcare teams. In this full-time role, you'll be pivotal in scheduling, patient care, and ensuring smooth operations in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide front and back-office support in a float Patient Care Coordinator/Scheduler role
  • Answer phone calls from multiple queues
  • Provide high level of customer service
  • Process prior authorization requests
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility & benefits
  • Intake demographic information for new patients
  • Schedule/Reschedule/Cancel patient appointments
  • Handle 90+ incoming calls daily
  • Prepare exam rooms and document patient encounters in Epic

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 3+ years of customer service experience
  • 1+ years of medical front office or surgery scheduling experience
  • 1+ years of basic computer software experience
  • 1+ years experience as an MA-R or an MA-C

Preferred Qualifications

  • Surgery scheduling experience
  • EPIC experience
  • Prior authorization experience
