Job Description

Join WellMed Medical Group as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant and be part of a team dedicated to improving healthcare for seniors. This role involves providing care in various settings, including clinics and telemedicine, while collaborating with a network of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • See patients in different clinics in greater San Antonio along with home, telemedicine, and mobile visits
  • Practice in collaboration with WellMed physicians and clinic staff
  • Provide comprehensive, coordinated care to a mostly Medicare-aged population
  • Educate providers on proper coding and quality protocols
  • Interview patients to ensure proper documentation and preventative screenings
  • Track performance using metrics related to organizational needs

Required Qualifications

  • Certification through AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA
  • Current Licensure through Texas Board of Nurse Examiners or Texas State Medical Board
  • Valid DEA license or ability to obtain one prior to employment
  • 1+ year of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Comfortable managing a primarily Medicare-aged patient population
  • Ability to commute around the greater San Antonio area
  • Ability to work designated hours of 8am-5pm

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with primary care and chronic condition codes
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency
  • A working understanding and support of a managed care environment
