Key Responsibilities
Deliver speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing intervention to patients
Coordinate programs to assist patients in improving function
Evaluate, plan, and implement treatment programs
Provide caretaker education for therapy intervention carryover
Establish discharge criteria and anticipate discharge needs
Complete department/patient documentation within designated timeframe
Supervise aides where appropriate
Assist with orientation of new staff and students
Communicate relevant patient information to healthcare team
Required Qualifications
Arts or Science degree from an accredited curriculum
Completion of a nine-month full time Clinical Fellowship Year
Certification of Clinical Competence from ASHA
CPR Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
Ability to communicate well personally and professionally
Responsibility, initiative, and honesty
Extensive mobility for patient transfers and equipment movement
Fine motor coordination and visual/perceptual skills for treatment tasks
Preferred Qualifications
One to two years of experience with geriatrics preferred
Qualified new graduates will be considered
Strong desire to work with the elderly and rehabilitation populations
