Job Description
As a Navy Chaplain, you'll serve as a source of hope and support for Sailors and Marines, providing spiritual guidance during both joyous and challenging times. You'll conduct worship services, oversee religious education, and counsel those in need while enjoying competitive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct worship services in various settings
Perform religious rites and ceremonies such as weddings, funerals, and baptisms
Counsel individuals seeking guidance
Oversee religious education programs, like Sunday school and youth groups
Visit and provide spiritual guidance to hospitalized personnel and their families
Train lay leaders for religious education programs
Promote attendance at religious services, retreats, and conferences
Advise leaders on morale, ethics, and spiritual well-being
Required Qualifications
U.S. citizen or equivalent
Graduate degree in theological or related studies from an accredited educational institution
Two years of full-time religious leadership experience
Ability to obtain an Ecclesiastical Endorsement from a religious faith organization registered with the Department of Defense
