Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian and lead a dedicated team in providing high-quality veterinary care to underserved communities. You will support and mentor staff, perform essential medical procedures, and enhance the wellbeing of animals while making a significant impact in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at the ASPCA’s veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques and medical protocols
Support a positive work culture through regular feedback and performance evaluations
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and approximately 25-40 high quality, high volume spay/neuter procedures daily
Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients
Schedule staff veterinarians and ensure optimal coverage
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
