Position Details:
Position: Special Education Teacher (LBS1)
Location: Tazewell County, IL
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Duration: August 2025 – May 2026
Caseload: Grades 5th–7th Classroom
Model: (1) Resource and (1) Cross-Categorical
Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction based on IEP goals in both resource and self-contained settings.
Supervise and collaborate with paraprofessionals supporting students.
Draft and lead annual IEP meetings; participate in Tier 3 problem-solving teams as needed.
Modify curriculum and implement instructional strategies tailored to diverse learning needs.
Attend district professional development, school improvement days, and teacher institutes.
Complete CPI training (or be willing to become CPI-certified).
Maintain compliance with all special education documentation and regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education or related field.
Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement.
Experience working with students who have a range of academic and behavioral needs.
