A Day in the Life – What You’ll Do Administer and optimize complex DoD network environments, including LANs, WANs, routers, switches, and firewalls. Monitor network and system performance using SIEM tools, while ensuring availability, integrity, and cybersecurity compliance. Support classified network environments, including SAP/SCI systems, and respond to security incidents in real time. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect and implement secure and scalable network solutions.
Is This You? 3–5 years of hands-on experience in network systems administration, with exposure to PL2/PL3 DoD environments. Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). Active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required. You’re security-focused, proactive, and thrive in structured environments supporting national defense. Must be IAT Level II certified and hold a valid CompTIA Security+ (SEC+) certification. Core Skills & Proficiencies Networking & Infrastructure LAN/WAN, Cisco switches/routers, firewalls (IDS/IPS), COMSEC integration Virtualization platforms: Hyper-V, VMware ESXi, Xen Network security, access control, and segmentation Systems & Platforms Windows Server (2012r2/2016), Red Hat Enterprise Linux (6.5), Windows 10 SQL Server 2012, Oracle, IIS, Tomcat, Apache Familiarity with WSUS/YUM for patch deployment Cybersecurity & Monitoring SIEM tools: LogRhythm, ACAS, Nessus, SCAP Intrusion Detection Systems, vulnerability assessment, incident response RBAC, SE Linux, AppArmor, BitLocker, Lumension Tools & Operations BMC Footprints, Microsoft Office Suite, Video Teleconferencing (VTC)/VOIP Experience with PL2/PL3 network configurations and DoD cybersecurity policies Technical documentation: SOPs, TTPs, and operations checklists Requirements & Qualifications Required: TS/SCI Security Clearance 3–5 years’ experience in network/system administration in DoD or secure environments Bachelor's in STEM IAT Level II and Security+ certification Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity frameworks and policy Must be able to lift 50 lbs and support on-site technical operations Preferred: Experience supporting SAP and SCI networks Familiarity with PL2/PL3 systems Hands-on experience in incident response and forensic analysis Experience with automated monitoring, ticketing, and documentation tools Who is Caribou Thunder?
