Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Shift:

7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position requires a professional who can demonstrate comprehensive patient assessment, pain management techniques, and effective communication within an interdisciplinary healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct head-to-toe assessments on patients and perform reassessments in accordance with policy.
  • Assess and reassess pain using appropriate evaluation methods and implement pain management techniques.
  • Develop, revise, and evaluate the plan of care based on patient response to treatment.
  • Provide age-appropriate care, considering the principles of growth and development across the lifespan.
  • Administer medications accurately following the five rights to reduce potential medication errors.
  • Formulate and activate teaching plans based on identified learning needs; include family in teaching as appropriate.
  • Perform technical and manual skills within the scope of licensure; seek guidance when necessary.
  • Treat patients and families with respect and dignity; identify and address psycho-social, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs.
  • Function as a liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
  • Establish and maintain a safe environment for patients and families to minimize the risk of healthcare errors.
  • Consult with other departments as needed to provide an interdisciplinary approach to patient care.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with unit director, co-workers, and physicians.
  • Document all patient care in compliance with current standards and policies.
  • Operate equipment safely and correctly; coordinate and supervise patient care as necessary.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and organization while functioning effectively in stressful situations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required.
  • Postpartum and nursery experience required.
  • BSN degree preferred.
  • Active Ohio or compact nursing license at the time of submission.
  • Current certifications such as ACLS (AHA), NRP, BLS (AHA) must be active at the time of start.
  • If Vaccinated for COVID-19, please provide vaccination card.

Additional Requirements:

  • Skills checklist within the last year.
  • Commitment to perform and maintain annual competencies, including bedside blood glucose waived testing.
