Job Description

Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates is looking for a detail-oriented Patient Accounts Representative to manage billing and collections. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial transactions, provide excellent customer service, and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, making a significant impact in the financial health of our practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate knowledge of insurance processes, including deductibles, out-of-pocket expenses, and copays
  • Accurately record payments received from patients and insurance companies
  • Conduct regular reviews of patient accounts to identify discrepancies and unpaid balances
  • Interact with patients to address billing inquiries and assist in establishing payment arrangements
  • Initiate collection efforts for past-due accounts
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all interactions and transactions related to patient accounts
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare billing regulations, including HIPAA
  • Generate regular reports on accounts receivable status and billing performance

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role within healthcare finance or billing
  • Strong understanding of insurance processes and healthcare billing regulations
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in relevant software applications for billing and financial record-keeping
