Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates is looking for a detail-oriented Patient Accounts Representative to manage billing and collections. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial transactions, provide excellent customer service, and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, making a significant impact in the financial health of our practice.
Key Responsibilities
Demonstrate knowledge of insurance processes, including deductibles, out-of-pocket expenses, and copays
Accurately record payments received from patients and insurance companies
Conduct regular reviews of patient accounts to identify discrepancies and unpaid balances
Interact with patients to address billing inquiries and assist in establishing payment arrangements
Initiate collection efforts for past-due accounts
Maintain detailed and accurate records of all interactions and transactions related to patient accounts
Ensure compliance with healthcare billing regulations, including HIPAA
Generate regular reports on accounts receivable status and billing performance
Required Qualifications
Previous experience in a similar role within healthcare finance or billing
Strong understanding of insurance processes and healthcare billing regulations
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Proficient in relevant software applications for billing and financial record-keeping
