Key Responsibilities
Oversee behavioral care and pathway planning for ARC and CARE animals
Ensure high quality, low stress patient care
Develop and oversee behavioral diagnosis and treatment plans
Manage and mentor a team of behavior experts
Lead research projects related to animal behavior and welfare
Collaborate with various teams to ensure best practices
Required Qualifications
3+ years’ experience in people management
DVM degree or equivalent from AVMA accredited veterinary school (for veterinary behaviorist candidates)
Master’s or PhD degree in animal behavior or related discipline (for non-veterinarian behaviorist candidates)
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Comfortable with humane euthanasia procedures
Fear Free certified within 6 months of hire
Strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in developing/overseeing research projects
Experience writing scientific publications for peer-reviewed journals
