Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Technologist – H&V Specialist to join our team in Cincinnati, OH. This role involves providing comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients undergoing invasive cardiology, peripheral, and angiographic procedures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in cardiovascular imaging, procedural support, and patient care while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Perform and assist with angiographic and interventional cardiovascular procedures.
- Act as a scrub assistant to cardiologists/radiologists using sterile technique.
- Assess, monitor, and report patient conditions, ensuring safety and optimal care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the healthcare team using effective handoff methods.
- Provide radiation protection to patients, self, and staff; properly wear dosimetry badges.
- Maintain hemostasis post-procedure (compression device, closure device, or manual compression).
- Demonstrate competency in arterial/venous sheath removal and groin management.
- Respond promptly to emergencies with controlled precision.
- Set up and manage specialized equipment and sterile trays.
- Educate patients and families, ensuring individualized and culturally sensitive care.
Required Skills & Experience
- 1–2 years of Cath Lab experience (scrubbing and x-ray procedures).
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral anatomy.
- Experience with Impella devices (required).
- Ohio Radiologic License (proof required within 7 days of offer).
- Ability to perform independently with minimal supervision.
- Participation in on-call coverage with a 30-minute response time .
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Peripheral vascular or structural heart experience.
- Experience in larger volume hospitals.
- ACLS certification (preferred, not required).
Schedule & Assignment Details
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 4x10s | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Call Requirements:
- Weekdays: 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekends: Saturday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM
- Must meet 30-minute response time for emergency cases
