Key Responsibilities
Support the function of the radiologist and perform diagnostic imaging examinations
Utilize imaging equipment to provide physicians with necessary data and images
Perform radiology exams while adhering to radiation safety precautions
Adjust, maintain, and sterilize diagnostic imaging equipment
Maintain detailed records of procedures and patient information
Perform selected clinical procedures and complete vital signs assessments
Produce diagnostic quality images for interpretation by radiologists
Communicate with healthcare team regarding imaging needs
Explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort and understanding
Provide radiation protection in accordance with safety standards
Required Qualifications
Technical School Diploma Graduate of AMA accredited Radiology Technician program
2 years Diagnostic radiology experience
Less than 1 year in Multi-disciplined radiology department
Ability to deal effectively and ethically with medical and confidential information
Ability to interpret information for age-specific patient care
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
Knowledge of radiation protocols
American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification
