Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian to lead a dedicated team in providing compassionate veterinary care for underserved communities. You'll oversee veterinary practices, support new veterinarians, and ensure high-quality care in a dynamic environment while directly impacting the welfare of animals and their owners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery at ASPCA veterinary clinics
  • Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques
  • Support a positive work culture and foster teamwork
  • Ensure high-quality patient care with minimal fear and stress
  • Perform pre-surgery examinations and surgical procedures
  • Diagnose and treat post-surgical complications

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (or equivalent) from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Excellent work attendance record
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous people management experience
