Join Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates as an Optometric Assistant, where you'll play a crucial role in patient care by assisting with various medical procedures, managing patient intake, and ensuring compliance with health standards in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Escort patients to and from the exam room and complete patient intake
Clean and straighten exam room between patients
Prepare syringes and administer subcutaneous and intra-muscular injections
Assist provider with injectable procedures
Prepare pathology and lab specimens and route them correctly
Respond to patient questions in office and via phone
Schedule or re-schedule appointments
Work in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards
Maintain medication samples and keep records
Train other employees on medical assistant duties
Assist with check-in/check-out procedures when needed
Perform additional duties as required
Required Qualifications
At least one (1) year of medical assisting experience (preferred)
Completion of a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant program
Professionalism and strong customer service skills
Ability to communicate with doctors clearly and concisely
Ability to communicate with patients and co-workers professionally
Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds
Ability to stand for prolonged periods
