- Provide direct nursing care under physician orders, including assisting during examinations and treatments.
- Operate pill call and sick call; prepare examination rooms, equipment, and patient lists.
- Dispense, document, and control medications, syringes, and medical supplies in accordance with policies.
- Perform emergency procedures as needed and ensure proper sanitation of equipment and work areas.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all medical records and information.
- Observe, document, and report inmate/resident behavior and health concerns.
- Inspect medical units for potential contraband; securely store or safely dispose of supplies/equipment.
- Assist with preparing and maintaining accurate reports, records, logs, and statistical data.
- Review and process all documentation in a timely and compliant manner.
- Interpret and apply medical instructions, governmental regulations, and legal/non-legal documents.
- Support legal processes by assisting corporate counsel with chart reviews, lawsuits, or hearings if needed.
Communicate effectively with administration, staff, inmates/residents, visitors, and the public with professionalism, fairness, and sound judgment.
