Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing
• Location: McKeesport, PA 15132 (Greater Pittsburgh area)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nurse Contract
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Shifts per Week: 3
• Hours per Week: 36
• Healthcare Setting: On-site hospital
• Start Date: December 8, 2025
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1740-$1860

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) required prior to first shift
• ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required prior to first shift
• Minimum 1 year of clinical bedside experience in medical-surgical nursing (2 years preferred)
• Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical support skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission
• Develop and implement individualized care plans with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and responses
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct clinical support
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from admission
• Communicate changes in patient status to healthcare team members for continuity and safety
• Supervise and direct Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
• Promote patient and employee safety by following hospital policies and safety procedures
• Foster a positive and efficient work environment through teamwork and leadership
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education
