A fast-growing leader in the specialty polymers, compounds and coatings markets is seeking a Manager to lead formulation and application development across a fairly wide product line. This position plays a pivotal role in expanding the company’s reach in key verticals such as building materials, automotive, packaging, healthcare devices, and more.

We are specifically looking for candidates with a strong background with a variety of polymers, and a strong knowledge of typical polymer/compound additives.

This is a role that requires approximately 30% travel, but it’s possible that you could work remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership

Lead the applications engineering and formulation teams to ensure customers are happy.

Stay abreast of the state of the art in polymers, coatings, and additives used in these products.

Manage internal and customer-driven formulation projects with a focus on quality, performance, and speed to market.

Support customers in key industries including: Building and construction materials, Automotive component, Flexible and rigid packaging, Healthcare and medical-grade applications

Provide technical data, lead product trials, and offer on-site troubleshooting as needed (~25% travel)

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field

Minimum of 8 years of experience in a technical role that would foster a deep understanding of polymers, coatings, & additives.

Proven leadership and project management experience in a technical environment

Strong communication and customer-facing skills

Willingness to travel to customer sites and corporate facilities

Develop and improve formulations for polymers, coatings, paints, and related applications.

Solve customer problems through tailored additive recommendations and process support.
