Job Summary
This Occupational Therapist (OT) will provide care to young adult thru geriatric populations in a variety of settings to include IP Rehab, SNF and Acute Care (specific to elective total joints). Following physician orders, responsible to assess, develop, and implement treatment plans directed at a minimum to prevention, management of conditions and/or rehabilitation. OT’s assist patients in achieving their highest level of independence in activities of daily living. Treatments focus on education/instruction in the use of adaptive equipment, compensatory strategies, visual perception strategies, cognitive retraining, therapeutic exercise/activities to improve mobility and strength, relief of pain, and improve/prevent/restore impairments and limitations resulting from disease or injury.
Direct care staff are required to complete all Hip and Knee Replacement Program curriculum and annual education module(s) assigned.
Job Requirements
Education
Required: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program
Preferred: Masters or Doctorate from an accredited program of Occupational Therapy
Experience
No prior experience required
Skills
Good clinical expertise, communication skills, human relations skills and organizational skills required.
Self-motivated individual who can work independently with little direct supervision required
Has demonstrated interest in professional growth by attendance at continuing education workshops, and applications of new principles and/or techniques.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Required: Active Missouri licensure for Occupational Therapy. (Limited permits not accepted)
Required: BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire
