Job Description:Position Details:Pay: Average driver first year salary ranges between $70,000 - $80,000.Schedule/Hours: Enjoy weekends off, working a 5-day week from Tuesday to Saturday, while being home every night. As a delivery driver in the food and food service sector, you play a vital role in maintaining the country’s food supply chain. Not only will you ensure timely and safe delivery of products to customers, but you will also represent our company and build lasting relationships with clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct all required safety checks (pre/post trip) and inspect vehicles in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations to ensure safety standards are met.Report all safety issues and necessary repairs promptly.Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safe driving policies, reporting hazards immediately.Perform inventory checks and ensure that customer invoices match loaded products.Accurately complete all required paperwork associated with freight.Transport tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as necessary.Deliver customer orders as per the scheduled route efficiently.Unload products and deliver them to designated storage areas in customer facilities.Conduct damage control checks, scanning items and reporting any issues as per company policy.Verify successful delivery with customers and obtain necessary signatures.Collect payments when required.Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure the doors properly.Ensure all freight and equipment remain secure at all times.Unload damaged goods and returns, completing all required paperwork.Maintain cleanliness and organization within the tractor, loading dock area, and trailers.Complete daily records of service hours and log entries in compliance with Federal DOT and company regulations.Perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications:Minimum of 6 months of commercial driving experience.High school diploma or equivalent.Valid CDL B license.Meet state licensing and certification requirements.Must be at least 21 years of age.Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.Pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.Pass a road test.Hold a valid current DOT health card or be able to secure one.Able to lift and move product cases/freight between 10-35 pounds, with occasional items weighing up to 90 pounds with appropriate equipment.Company Overview:Performance Foodservice, a division of Performance Food Group, has established partnerships with a diverse range of local customers, including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries.
