Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts starting at 6:45 AM with bedside report
• Every other weekend requirement
• Rotate holidays with core staff - travelers work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years)
• First to float when census requires
• Work in 10-bed ICCU - MSCC (MedSurg Concentrated Care) unit with swing bed capacity
• Patient ratios: 1:2 ICU, 1:3 stepdown/swing beds
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (PALS preferred)
• Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips for telemetry monitoring
• Experience with ventilators required
• Complete dysrhythmia exam through Relias within 24-48 hours of acceptance (pass/fail with two attempts)
• Navy scrubs required - undershirts must be navy, white, or black
• Use Cerner EMR system
• 1-2 days floor orientation with preceptor
• Self-scheduling system with manager approval, schedules available 4 weeks in advance
• Overtime and extra shifts available
• Care for patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, DKA, GI bleeds, and psychiatric holds
• May receive PACU patients after hours
• Utilize tele-medicine robots
• Two supervisor references required at submittal (one within 12 months, one within 3 years)
• BSN not required

This acute care hospital operates a 10-bed intensive care unit providing concentrated medical care services. The facility features modern technology including tele-medicine robots and maintains 24/7 coverage with hospitalists or intensivists, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services. The unit follows a horseshoe layout design and provides comprehensive critical care services including ventilator management and telemetry monitoring for patients with complex medical conditions.
