Job Description

Join Charter Manufacturing as a Maintenance Shift Supervisor and play a vital role in maintaining production efficiency and equipment reliability. Lead a dedicated team in a family-owned business committed to growth and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain flow of materials and components for production equipment
  • Investigate problems with production equipment and recommend corrective action
  • Maintain production equipment, building, and grounds
  • Recommend new equipment or processes to improve production efficiency
  • Ensure all employees are trained on equipment and safety procedures
  • Make recommendations for improved plant layout and facilitate movement of equipment
  • Prepare reports for management as required
  • Exercise considerable judgment to maintain, repair, and modify production equipment
  • Maintain confidential data such as employee records
  • Use personal computer and common office equipment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in STEM discipline or equivalent experience
  • Three plus years’ electromechanical experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience of a maintenance team
  • Thorough knowledge of maintenance technology
  • Solid blueprint & schematic reading skills
  • Understanding of machine repair/rebuild, hydraulic, welding, fabricating & pipe fitting skills
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated skills in leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM discipline
  • Foundry or metals industry experience
  • CMMS or ERP system experience
  • CMRP Certification
  • Experience supervising a maintenance department
  • Formal team and leadership training
  • Knowledge of maintaining part inventory and work orders
  • Proficiency with advanced features of Microsoft Office products
