Unit: Pediatric Intensive care unit ( PICU )
Location: New York, NY 10037
Shift: 7:30 AM-8:00 PM
Schedule: 3*12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 34.5 hours per week
Duration: 13 weeks

 

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) - PICU Nurse Preceptor with a minimum of 5 years of acute care experience. The ideal candidate will play a key role in providing clinical expertise, mentorship, and guidance to new and existing nursing staff within the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. This position requires strong leadership, advanced clinical judgment, and a passion for fostering professional growth and excellence in pediatric critical care nursing.


Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Position: Nurse Preceptor
  • Minimum 5 years of PICU experience
  • During orientation, RNs will be assigned to this Preceptor
    Responsibilities include:
  • Teaching clinical concepts to new RNs
  • Providing guidance and oversight to prevent errors on the floor
  • Reporting directly to the onsite Nurse Educator
Skills:
  • Strong clinical expertise in pediatric critical care and acute care settings.
  • Proven ability to mentor, train, and guide nursing staff effectively.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in developing and implementing evidence-based care practices.
  • Skilled in patient assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response.
Documents Required:
  • Valid ANYS State RN license
  • PALS Certified through AHA
  • ACLS Certified through AHA
  • BLS Certified through AHA
