Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Fairfax, Virginia (22033) – Northern Virginia healthcare jobs
• Setting: ICU and PCU/Telemetry units
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Start Date: October 27, 2025
• End Date: January 31, 2026
• Duration: 14-week travel contract
• Shift: 12-hour days (7a-7p), every other weekend
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,750 - $1,870 per week
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
• Orientation: 2-3 shifts with a preceptor

ICU RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU and PCU/Telemetry nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Virginia or compact state
• BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications
• Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Experience caring for stroke patients using NIHSS
• Charge nurse and precepting experience strongly preferred

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in ICU and PCU/Telemetry units (50/50 split)
• Float between ICU and PCU/Tele units as needed (travel nurses float first)
• Manage diagnoses including CHF, stroke, sepsis, cardiac dysrhythmias, pneumonia, diabetes, respiratory issues, and high flow oxygen therapy
• Care for ICU patients with sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, asthma, AKI, CKI, DKA, PE, overdose, post-bariatric surgery, and tPA-stroke center cases
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP, high flow oxygen) with RT support
• Titrate and manage IV drips: vasopressors, antihypertensives, amiodarone, Cardizem, insulin, heparin, esmolol, argatroban, fentanyl, propofol, precedex, versed
• Respond to inpatient MSETS and Rapid Response calls
• Document patient care in Epic EMR system
