Job Description

Join the North Texas VA Health Care System as a Physiatrist specializing in Spinal Cord Injury, providing comprehensive care to Veterans in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the quality of life for those who have served.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive history and physical exams
  • Develop and manage individualized treatment plans
  • Diagnose and treat multi-system conditions
  • Perform procedures such as joint injections and wound care
  • Manage special therapies and respond to consults
  • Utilize VA’s Electronic Health Record system
  • Participate in staff meetings, teaching, and administrative functions

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • M.D. or D.O. degree from accredited institution
  • Current, full, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S.
  • Completion of ACGME or AOA-accredited PM&R residency program
  • Board certification or eligibility in PM&R and/or SCI
  • Proficiency in English
  • Ability to pass VA physical, background screening, and drug test

Preferred Qualifications

  • SCI Fellowship-trained
  • Experience with SCI patient population
  • Background in acute/subacute rehabilitation care
  • Leading or participating in interdisciplinary teams
  • Performing outpatient procedures
