Job Description
Join the North Texas VA Health Care System as a Physiatrist specializing in Spinal Cord Injury, providing comprehensive care to Veterans in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the quality of life for those who have served.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive history and physical exams
Develop and manage individualized treatment plans
Diagnose and treat multi-system conditions
Perform procedures such as joint injections and wound care
Manage special therapies and respond to consults
Utilize VA’s Electronic Health Record system
Participate in staff meetings, teaching, and administrative functions
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship
M.D. or D.O. degree from accredited institution
Current, full, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S.
Completion of ACGME or AOA-accredited PM&R residency program
Board certification or eligibility in PM&R and/or SCI
Proficiency in English
Ability to pass VA physical, background screening, and drug test
Preferred Qualifications
SCI Fellowship-trained
Experience with SCI patient population
Background in acute/subacute rehabilitation care
Leading or participating in interdisciplinary teams
Performing outpatient procedures
