Job Description

As a Freight Operations Supervisor at XPO, you will lead and manage freight operations, ensuring production goals are met while fostering a positive work environment. With a focus on compliance and safety, you will develop strategic work procedures and supervise a dedicated team to drive operational success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations
  • Develop and implement strategic work procedures
  • Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks
  • Supervise hourly staff across various operations
  • Ensure production goals are met and manage tonnage, payroll and administrative functions
  • Plan hourly employee schedules to meet daily operations goals
  • Enforce compliance with company policies and regulations
  • Coach and develop employees on proper techniques and quality requirements
  • Conduct daily staff meetings and communicate corporate messages
  • Inspect working conditions of tools and equipment
  • Minimize shipment rehandle across the network

Required Qualifications

  • 2 years of related work experience in a warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment
  • Knowledge of the Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules and regulations
  • Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Distribution or Logistics
  • 4 years of related work or military experience
  • 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Positive attitude with the ability to multitask and motivate your team
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and administrative skills
