Job Title: Property Accountant (Commercial Real Estate)
Location: Hybrid – In Office (Mon–Wed) / Remote (Thu–Fri)
Schedule: Full-Time

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to support the financial operations of a commercial real estate portfolio. This role will be responsible for preparing accurate financial reports, conducting reconciliations, assisting with audits and budgets, and ensuring compliance with leases and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records

  • Prepare and review monthly financial reports and quarterly general ledger audits

  • Record journal entries and assist in annual audits and budget preparation

  • Compile financial reports including cash flow, P&L, AP/AR, and variance analysis

  • Maintain and organize financial records (electronic and physical)

  • Review lease agreements and process tenant billings accordingly

  • Assist with CAM, tax, and insurance reconciliations

  • Monitor real estate taxes, assessments, annual filings, and business license fees

  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations and lender requirements

  • Collaborate with banks to open/manage accounts

  • Support ad hoc accounting tasks and projects

  • Perform general administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, or 3–4 years of property accounting experience

  • 2–4 years in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in commercial real estate

  • Strong knowledge of property management accounting principles

  • Proficiency with accounting software (MRI preferred) and Microsoft Excel/Word

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
