Travel Pay Rate : (above 50 miles)

• Hourly:$25/hr W2 + $1,320/week (non - taxable stipend)
• Gross : $2,220/weekly

Local Pay Rate: (within 50 miles)

• Hourly: $53/hr W2
• Gross:$1,908/weekly

Position Summary:

The PICU Registered Nurse provides highly specialized care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents requiring continuous monitoring, advanced interventions, and rapid clinical decision-making. The RN manages patients with life-threatening conditions such as respiratory failure, congenital anomalies, trauma, cardiac disorders, post-operative cases, and sepsis. This role demands strong pediatric assessment skills, family-centered care, and the ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed pediatric assessments and monitor vitals, ventilators, infusions, and critical equipment.
• Administer and titrate pediatric-specific IV drips, sedation, analgesics, and emergency medications.
• Manage ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, and assist with advanced pediatric airway management.
• Respond rapidly to pediatric codes, rapid response situations, seizures, and trauma activations.
• Provide post-operative care for pediatric cardiac, neuro, trauma, and surgical patients.
• Collaborate with pediatric intensivists, respiratory therapists, and child-life specialists to develop care plans.
• Educate and support families, ensuring compassionate and developmentally appropriate communication.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.)
• Follow strict infection prevention standards and central-line/ventilator safety bundles.
• Assist with pediatric sedation procedures, line placements, and diagnostic tests.

Required Qualifications:

• Active RN License of IL.
• BLS & PALS (required); ACLS (preferred.)
• Minimum 2 years of experience.
• PICU experience (preferred)
• Familiarity with EMR systems (EPIC/Cerner preferred).
