Job Description

Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you’ll lead a dedicated team in providing essential veterinary care to underserved communities. This role involves supporting colleagues, performing high-quality medical services, and fostering a compassionate environment for both animals and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee medicine and surgery at the CVC
  • Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques
  • Support a positive work culture and develop team members
  • Perform pre-surgery exams and high volume spay/neuter surgeries
  • Provide quality preventive and basic care to patients
  • Schedule staff for optimal coverage
  • Participate in veterinary medicine meetings and research

Required Qualifications

  • Current California State Veterinary License
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
  • Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
  • Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
  • Possess ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
  • Excellent work attendance record
  • Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire

  • Previous people management experience
