Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian, where you’ll lead a dedicated team in providing essential veterinary care to underserved communities. This role involves supporting colleagues, performing high-quality medical services, and fostering a compassionate environment for both animals and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee medicine and surgery at the CVC
Train veterinarians in HQHVSN techniques
Support a positive work culture and develop team members
Perform pre-surgery exams and high volume spay/neuter surgeries
Provide quality preventive and basic care to patients
Schedule staff for optimal coverage
Participate in veterinary medicine meetings and research
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Possess ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced clinic environment
Excellent work attendance record
Fear Free® Shelter certification required within 60 days of hire
