Requirements
- Completion of a nursing assistant program or equivalent.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as an ED technician within the last year.
- Must show competency obtaining and documenting vital signs, collecting and labeling specimens, performing point of care testing, administering 12-lead EKGs, assisting with procedures, and providing safe transportation and handling of patients.
- Must be competent with basic first aid, wound care, dressing application, and splinting.
- Ability to provide comfort and support to patients, and assisting with personal hygiene and other activities of daily living.Must be comfortable working with various patient populations.
- A focus on safety and accuracy when communicating with other members of the interdisciplinary team is essential.
