The Director of Operations oversees the agency's real estate portfolio across NYC, ensuring efficient and safe property operations. This role involves team leadership, vendor management, and adherence to safety standards, driving accountability and continuous improvement in facilities management.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day operations for agency properties across five NYC boroughs
Monitor and ensure area managers respond to open sysaid tickets
Manage and mentor area managers overseeing handymen teams
Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing contractors
Ensure life safety vendors adhere to contract standards
Develop performance metrics to gauge operational effectiveness
Identify areas for operational enhancements
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years working as a tradesperson, preferably in mechanical, plumbing, or electrical fields
At least 5 years of managerial experience overseeing teams or operations
Verifiable experience with technical building systems
Proven understanding of maintenance operations and vendor management
Fluent in English
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a hybrid role with both field and office responsibilities
Familiarity with life safety system requirements and contract management
FDNY licenses such as an F80
Ability to develop and analyze performance metrics
Prior experience managing large real estate portfolios
