Job Description
Join the ASPCA as a Lead Veterinarian to lead a dynamic team dedicated to providing quality veterinary care to underserved communities. In this role, you'll support fellow veterinarians, perform high-volume spay/neuter procedures, and ensure every patient receives exceptional care while promoting a positive work culture.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and monitor medicine and surgery provided at the ASPCA’s veterinary clinics
Train veterinarians in high-quality spay/neuter techniques and other medical protocols
Support a positive work culture of respect and teamwork
Perform pre-surgery physical examinations and high-quality surgical procedures
Provide compassionate veterinary care and support internal ASPCA departments
Required Qualifications
Current California State Veterinary License
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (or equivalent) from an AVMA accredited veterinary college
Minimum one year of experience in high quality, high volume spay/neuter
Minimum three years veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery
Demonstrate true leadership abilities in challenging situations
Excellent work attendance record
Fear Free® Shelter certification is required within 60 days of hire
