Job Description
Join Optum as an Associate Patient Care Coordinator, where you will enhance patient experiences through effective registration, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification. Be part of a diverse team dedicated to improving health outcomes and make a real impact in the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities
Provide exceptional service to all customers
Greet patients and check them in and out, ensuring correct demographics
Collect appropriate co-pays and adhere to cash handling policies
Schedule appointments and verify correct visit type and provider
Manage waiting room cleanliness and communicate with patients
Work with back office staff to ensure smooth patient flow
Resolve service issues and assist co-workers when necessary
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
CPR certified or able to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
1+ years of customer service experience
Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to work in various locations
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting
1+ years of experience with insurance programs and basic managed care principles
Experience working with an electronic health record
Medical office setting experience
Knowledge/understanding of CPT/ICD-10 coding
Knowledge of medical terminology
Independent means of transportation during work hours
Bilingual in Spanish/English
