Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) for a 9-week travel assignment at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. This role requires strong clinical expertise in medical-surgical nursing, patient assessment, care planning, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Assignment Details

• Schedule: 5x8-hour shifts (NOC shift) – 40 hours/week
• Shift Length: 8 hours
• Meal Break: 30 minutes
• On Call: Not required
• Float: No float required

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in a medical-surgical setting, following established protocols and best practices.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and document patient progress.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment, discharge, and follow-up care.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Dakota or Compact state).
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med-Surg experience (preferred in acute care hospital setting).
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Strong clinical assessment, time management, and communication skills.
