Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in design of electrical projects and install electrical equipment
  • Coordinate with other workers for installations and maintenance
  • Consult with operators and engineers for equipment layout and problem resolution
  • Determine equipment feasibility and develop specifications
  • Work with voltage levels up to 480, 4160; wire Variable Frequency Drives
  • Study blueprints and manuals for installation procedures
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks
  • Inspect components for assembly accuracy and defects
  • Advise management on equipment safety
  • Maintain logs for performance and repairs
  • Operate equipment for demonstrations and troubleshooting
  • Repair, install, and adjust equipment and components
  • Install telecommunications cables
  • Maintain spare parts inventory
  • Work extended shifts and adapt to changing priorities
  • Follow the National Electric Code and Cargill standards
  • Participate in training for skill improvement

Required Qualifications

  • Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • 18 years or older
  • Able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Able to work under extreme heat or cold
  • Ability to work in elevated areas
  • Able to operate machinery
  • Read/write English
  • High School diploma or Equivalent
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts
  • Experience performing electrical maintenance trade
  • Experience with blueprints, schematics, manuals
  • Able to operate mobile equipment
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude
  • Basic mathematical functions proficiency
  • Willing to work in inclement conditions
  • Able to work in an outdoor and indoor plant environment
  • Very good time management skills
  • Install conduit and pull wire
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Adequate transportation
  • Use multiple tools such as multi-meter, voltmeter, safety equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with wiring and programming Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Experience using electrical test equipment for analysis and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of the National Electric Code
  • Mechanical aptitude for blueprints and maintenance manuals
  • Apprentice, Journeyman or above license in Nebraska or equivalent
  • A 2-year degree in electromechanical, electrical system, or equivalent
