Job Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced Scrub Technologist to join a dynamic surgical team for a 13-week contract assignment. The ideal candidate will have orthopedic experience, including total joints and sports medicine . Working under the direct supervision of a surgeon, the Scrub Tech plays a vital role in ensuring patient safety and procedural efficiency in the operating room.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment, ensuring equipment and instruments are properly set up and functioning.
  • Anticipate the surgeon’s needs during procedures and efficiently pass instruments.
  • Perform accurate instrument and supply counts with the circulator before and after surgery.
  • Assist with draping, gowning, and gloving the surgical team.
  • Support terminal cleaning, instrument sterilization, and OR preparation between cases.
  • Mentor new employees and students on surgical procedures and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a Trade or Technical School (Certificate or Diploma) in Surgical Technology.
  • Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of surgical experience preferred, with orthopedic specialty experience strongly desired.
  • Current active state certification/license.
  • BLS certification preferred.

Additional Details:

  • Assignment length: 13 weeks.
  • Up to 16 hours of orientation (unpaid).
  • Local travelers (within 50 miles) are subject to a $10/hr rate reduction.
  • Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per contract.
  • EMR: EPIC
