We’re seeking a proactive and passionate Safety Specialist to help ensure that programs, facilities, and staff maintain the highest standards of safety and compliance.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As the Safety Specialist, you’ll work closely with the Human Resources department to develop, implement, and monitor safety protocols across multiple program sites. Your role will directly impact the well-being of youth, staff, and volunteers by:

• Conducting regular safety inspections of facilities and program areas
• Collaborating with HR on employee safety training, onboarding, and compliance
• Creating and updating safety policies, procedures, and training materials
• Coordinating emergency preparedness drills and incident response plans
• Ensuring compliance with OSHA, state, and local safety regulations
• Supporting a culture of safety and continuous improvement organization-wide

REQUIREMENTS:

• 2+ years of experience in safety, risk management, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and safety best practices
• Experience working in youth programs, schools, or nonprofits preferred
• Ability to work cross-functionally, especially with HR and program leadership
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Certification in safety (e.g., OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid Trainer) a plus
